Directions
Isfryn Cottage is located 3 miles behind Bodelwyddan Castle which is junction 25 on the A55 expressway .
- The A55 begins at Queensferry 15 to 20mins from the M6 Motorway.
- Once you come off the A55 at Bodelwyddan Castle there are 3 miles of country lanes before you reach the quiet little village of Llannefydd.
- Come off the A55 with the Castle on your left and head straight on at the round a bout.
- At the top of the road (approx 1 mile) the road bends to the left (follow it), you will then pass a red phone box on your right (you are now at the rear entrance of the Castle and you will see the large gates).
- Just after the phone box there is a right turn take it and also take the immediate left turn.
- Continue until you pass a small row of houses on your left and right hand side, take the first right turn after the houses, you are now on your way to Llannefydd village. You will see the sign up high to the right.
You are now at the start of 3 miles of country lanes, keep your speed under 30 mph as you may well meet a tractor, a heard of cow’s crossing the lanes or a flock of sheep doing the same so best to watch your speed.
- Once you have taken the right turn after the small row of houses you stay on this lane, the lane has a sharp left bend (Follow it round to the left)
- Continue straight on you will come down to our local river and will pass over a small bridge and the lane will then start to climb up with a small white cottage on your right
- Continue up the lane where you will pass under a small wood and pass by a small farm on your right hand side
- Continue on until the road bends sharp to the left
- You will now see Isfryn to your left hand side over the field.
- Continue up the short but steep hill at the top turn left.
- Go slow and you will come to Isfryn Cottage on your left hand side.
- Open the large brown gate and park your car on the drive way. These directions on the right are written perfectly so if you do get lost then you have not followed them correctly and our suggestions are?
If You Get Lost...
1. Ask anybody you see locally to direct you to Llannefydd Village and call us from there as you are only approx 400 yards from the cottage
2. Get yourself back to the rear entrance of the Castle and follow these instructions again.
Although these directions may seem a lot, they’re not once you get to Isfryn you will realize its not difficult at all and you will soon get your bearings.
Along these lanes you will pass diary farms, sheep farms, horse riding stables and you will pass over a lovely river which flows all year round from Snowdonia making its way to the coast and its only a ten minute walk from our cottage.
